Amazed at the number of interest we have had this year for the Black Achievers Awards, The Black Achievers Team would like to thank the local community for their support. Being black history month, what better way to celebrate than to have an evening filled with local acts and performances? Are you coming to support and honour your community achievers in Nottingham? 

The awards will be held at the East Midlands Conference Centre, Beeston Lane, Nottingham NG7 2RJ. Doors will open to the public from 6pm. Event starts at 6:45pm.

Our host for the evening is Curtis Walker and we will have 2012 Olympian Peter Bakare co-hosting the awards announcement on the night.

It’s nearly that time again

It’s nearly that time again where we continue to jump the last few hurdles for this years Black Achievers Awards. The awards will be held on Saturday 21 October at the East Midlands Conference, University Park, Nottingham, NG7 2RJ.

Doors will open from 6pm. Event starts at 6:45pm

If you would like to spend a Saturday evening full of laughter, good vibes and a three course meal, then this is the place to be.

‘The Black Achievers Awards 2017 – It’s just around the corner!

Nominations are now closed.


We only have 9 weeks left until we host this year’s Black Achievers Awards. Our host for the evening will be the one and only British comedian, Mr Curtis Walker. This year, we will be having a 2012 Olympian as our Co-host who goes by the name Mr Peter Bakare. We will be having performances and acts on the night which will include a set from the host himself. We will also be giving a special award out from the Black Achievers Team. If you missed last years’ awards, then you certainly do not want to miss this year’s event.

Nomination date extended

The Black Achievers Team has decided to extend the date for nominations until Friday 18 August.

This extended date is only for categories that are still opened. The categories still opened for nominations are the following: –

The Black Achievers Team has now set a closing date for nominations for 2017. The closing date for nominations is Friday 11th August, 2017.
There are still a few categories opened for nominations. However, there are not many spaces left. Categories that are still open are:

Tickets for the Black Achievers Awards 2017 now on sale!

Tickets for this years Black Achievers Awards 2017 is now on sale. Tickets are £35 and will include your three course meal and entertainment on the night. If you would like to purchase your tickets now, you can do the following: –

Get your nominations in while you can as we will be closing categories as soon as we have maxed the number of nominations per category.

We have closed the category for Lifetime Community Achievers Award as we have reached the number of nominations for that category. But there is still time to place your nominations for other categories on our website. You can also download a nomination form by clicking here and emailing it to You can also pick up a form from the reception desk at the Nottingham Community and Voluntary Service opposite House of Fraser on Mansfield Road and dropping it into the nominations box located next to the forms.

When nominating someone, please provide suitable amount of information as to what they are involved in or have done to deserve the award.

Councillor Merlita Bryan Presents ‘The Black Achievers Awards 2017’

Save the date – Saturday 21 October, for the black tie event of the year. We have received many positive feedbacks from those who attended the Black Achievers Awards last year. Many of the sponsors, MBE’s and other special guests including the Lord Mayor praised the night as being the event to look forward to.

This is the fifth year of the awards and we are looking to build a bigger event as well as introducing something new this year.
