The Royal Air Force (RAF) offers numerous roles and careers opportunities and is looking for talented young people to join in the many vacancies the RAF has, there are many opportunities to join through the apprentices, trainees and graduate schemes on offer as an Inclusive employer. To celebrate Black History Month, RAF personnel from the Ethnic Minority Network hold their annual conference increasing awareness and celebrating achievements and attend different memorial services and events to recognise the contributions from RAF personnel from all over the world. Our history started in the first world war when some men from the commonwealth joined to fly and broke barriers to become pilots in April 1917 when it was called the Royal Flying Corps, exactly one year before the formation of the Royal Air Force (RAF). Since then men and women from the many diverse communities in the UK have continued to serve across the range of professions and roles it has, to operate effectively.
